A FESTIVAL UNLIKE ANY OTHER
– JOIN US AND ‘SAVOUR THE FLAVOUR OF ISLAND LIFE’ –
‘The Festival combines the best food and drink with a celebration of the people and places that make Mersea Island so special.
We are proud to support local groups while offering a fun-filled weekend for friends and families in the lovely setting
beside the beautiful Blackwater Estuary.’
Bev Perkins, Organiser
Food & Drink
The tasty sights and smells are bound to make visitors hungry. You can buy food to take home and feast on delights such as a hog roast and freshly cooked crepes or light refreshments from the tea tent.
Arts & Crafts
At the Festival you'll meet local artists, photographers and crafts people whose work reflects the beauty of Mersea; the verdant countryside and the light on the water, the hazy dawn and the glorious sunsets.
Past & Present
The island's natural beauty has always attracted artists and photographers. See the many highlights and must-see areas of past and present on West Mersea.
The Mersea Island Food, Drink and Leisure Festival wouldn’t be the same without a wealth of entertainment to keep you occupied in between visiting the many exhibitors.
Mersea is in a rural part of North East Essex, but unique in that it’s very accessible. Connected to the mainland by a causeway which is occasionally flooded for an hour at high tide.
Places to Eat & Stay
When you visit the Food, Drink & Leisure Festival, there are places to eat and stay to suit all pockets but be warned – many have come to Mersea Island for a weekend only to remain a lifetime!
